Genesis 1:29 ~ And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
These jars? This is all of my love put into 5 jars. This is 5 different herbs to treat a genetic mutation and the side effects that it causes in your body. These are 5 herbs that we have so much hope in and have shown much success in stopping the growth of cysts and slowing the progression of Logan’s genetic disease.
When I met Logan, something always drew me to him. He drives me absolutely nuts! Haha! I could always just be me. He has this amazing energy about him. He is so intelligent, funny, and always making me laugh. He is patient and caring. He is so easy to talk to! We became inseparable. Two peas in a pod. He is the pepper to my salt. The bacon to my eggs. The bees to my honey. I knew without a doubt he was my person!
When I met Logan (my partner), he was on something like 4 or 5 different medications. Now, he is not on any medication. It has been a HUGE trial and error and a very big learning process for me. I have LOVED the challenge of this. Tons of research that has helped me even in my practice today. That was tough to see though, especially knowing he didn’t want to be on any one of those medications. They made him feel awful! I feel blessed for my knowledge.
Logan has a genetic kidney disease - Polycystic Kidney Disease. Treating an ailment or disease naturally like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, skin issues, diabetes, IBS, etc. is soooo much easier than treating a genetic disease that someone is born with. That right there is a whole other ballpark! When I am taught certain things and have made those recommendations to clients accordingly to confirm this knowledge and then I have someone with a genetic disease defeating absolutely everything I thought I knew - It really tends to play with your mind a little!
What is PKD? PKD is a genetic disease in which clusters of cysts develop on the kidney’s which will cause your kidneys to enlarge and lose function over time. There are 2 mutations: PKD1 & PKD2. One is faster progressing than the other. Logan’s PKD is unique in that his is from a genetic mutation and not inherited. No one in his family has PKD.
After deciding to step back because of my emotional involvement with Logan and his health, I researched everywhere possible and found one of very few (in the world) Naturopathic Doctors located in Washington state that specializes in PKD. Interestingly enough, I even own a couple of his books! (Um… I GOT TO TALK TO SOMEONE FAMOUS!)
It was amazing because he helped me know that I was actually on the right path. Because of the pressure from the situation, I was getting too into my own head because I was scared of killing him. (Ya seriously - it was my thought process! LOL) It is why I chose to step back and ask for help. Research is too far and in-between when it comes to genetic diseases. Nobody seems to really want to touch them because of that. It’s pretty much only symptom management that is available. That is until we met Dr. Yarnell and learned of his protocol.
These 5 herbs right here that I am making into medicine for Logan are literally all of my love and research in jars. Normally, the goal would be to support the health of the kidneys BUT in Logan’s circumstance, the goal is actually to focus on the cysts themselves! The cysts are what is basically crushing his kidney health. You cannot support kidney health if you have something mechanically crushing them! (Although, We are simultaneously working on both the kidney health AND the cysts)
It is our hope that with diet, lifestyle changes, these 5 herbs, under my care AND under Dr. Yarnell’s naturopathic care AND working with his Nephrologist too (Because it is important that we all work together on your health and that always includes your MD) that we will stop or slow the growth of cysts and in some cases, even reduce or diminish the cysts altogether as well as slow down the progression of his kidney disease overall.
It was hell finding everything I needed! It took me weeks and I was told it probably wouldn’t be possible. He even gave us a treatment plan with and without certain things but ultimately the full protocol was what works best.
If anyone remembers - I have this thing where I like to prove the impossible to be possible. LOL Pure Alcohol is next to impossible to find in Canada UNLESS you have the proper credentials and Ocotillo is also very difficult to find. Ocotillo needs 190 proof alcohol to properly make into a tincture. Thankful for my credentials and was even able to pay wholesale pricing for everything too - It took me a while BUT I got it all!!!
Now in 14 days, Logan gets to start his new protocol which gives him time to check in with his specialist, get some updated tests done BEFORE he starts his protocol. It has been such an amazing journey with him so far. I have learned so much and it has even been helping me to develop my own protocol to help other people with PKD and PCOS too. His health as transformed since we first met. His family and friends see it but I also see it too.
Now this is just my side of the story and in time, Logan will share his side too! <3

The moral to this story: Always find what works for you. It is going to be a trial and error. What works for one person, may not work for you! Keep fighting, keep researching and keep going! Healing is such an amazing journey and one to celebrate. <3
